At Kumeroa School, students GROW!
We ensure that all students achieve to their maximum potential, celebrating their culture, identity and interests. Students are guided and supported by quality teaching, informed parents and whānau in a safe learning environment.
We are really proud of our AGRI Curriculum! Students learn in a variety of ways. At Kumeroa School we believe that learning should be authentic, relevant and hands on. Students identify, research, plan and learn through various projects which have close ties to agriculture and horticulture. Students tend to the school veggie garden, collect worm wees from our worm farm and eggs from our school chickens (the coop and run were designed and built by the students). Recently we have just completed building a greenhouse out of recycled 2.25 litre soft drink bottles. Students turn the produce they grow into a variety of products and sell them, along with eggs, honey from our beehive and worm wees, at school and at local market days. All the money then gets spent on future AGRI projects.
Students absolutely love learning at Kumeroa School, book a visit today to find out more about why students love GROWing with us.
